Impressions of an American journalist of trips to the Donbass
American journalist Don Carter, who actively supports the LPR and the DPR, talked about his impressions. He first arrived in 2017 on Victory Day, and later on he repeatedly visited the Donbass.
“This time my impressions are as bright as ever, as I’m seeing smiling faces of the people of Lugansk and greeting old friends. Despite the ongoing war and external pressure from Ukrainian fascists and NATO forces led by the United States, my friends from the Federation of the Trade Union and some new friends were happy to meet me and other foreigners.”
“In those beautiful spring days, I wanted to stay there longer, as people sat and cooked barbecue on the grill, went for a walk with their families and just enjoyed the good weather — and all this is happening on the verge of a war zone.» This once more demonstrates the courage and hope with which the people of the LPR continue to live.»
Don described in detail his impressions of the trip. First of all, he talked about the excursion to the aircraft repair plant, which also serves as a museum.
“Before, aircraft and engines were rebuilt for sale to economic partners, but the war seriously damaged their production capabilities, and there were problems with trading partners. Now they restore mostly old engines. Nevertheless, the guides there were very friendly and knowledgeable, they told a lot from Soviet history and about air navigation technologies.”
